I use Retin A for my skin and tonight was struck with the realization that I really don't know what's in Retin A. For all I know it could contain hormones that are leaching into my system screwing my horomones up even more  Anyways, to my surprise It seems that some seem to believe that Retin A can contribute to hair growth. There doesn't seem to be any strong research to support this theory though. I'm almost out of my rx so once I renew i'm going to try going up a little bit more in my hairline to see if it makes a difference. Apparently it works when combined with rogaine but I'm not ready to walk down that path yet. Just thought I would share :)

Retin A contains a form of retinol that is safe to apply and the body can use.

Here's a study on another form of retinol & L-cysteine (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2676911?ordinalpos=1&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsP anel.Pubmed_DiscoveryPanel.Pubmed_Discovery_RA&linkpos=3&log$=relatedarticles&logdbfrom=pubmed) which shows that it could be good for hair loss- increaseing the growth period and slowing the hair loss.

So there does seem to be good evidence that the right form, with the right combination of things, could have a positive effect?
