My dr diagnosed with me with a slightly over active thyroid and high testosterone. All my hairs falling out. Every day it seems like less and less. I lost my insurance im now waiting to get it back. The dr told me to go have my throat checked by ultrasound i havent been able to do that because of the insurance. What can i do. its all coming out. Everytime i take a shower i cry i lose so much hairs seems like i lose 200 hairs a day. I just took a shower now and im so depressed i can't believe whats happening to me. No one seems to care about my hair. My doctor acts like its nothing he says that the testosterone wont cause hair loss since mine is just above 85. I told him maybe im sensitive and its effecting me. Im taking a multi, biotin now and i just started taking saw palmetto.

How do i know what i have ? Is it alopecia ? My doctor doesn't care about my hair loss hes bald himself. Should i see a dermatologist after i get that ultrasound done? Will he prescribe me hair loss products even though i have a thyroid/testosterone disorder? Is the testosterone and thyroid making me go bald ? He says its stress.

This is really bothering me everyday i look in the mirror i cry. I used to feel so pretty now all my hairs almost gone its all so see through, like you can actually see my scalp.

Your answers will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

If it is your thyroid causing hair loss, than usually getting on the right medication to correct your thyroid can help bring back your hair. You have something hormonal going on, and finding out if things are out of balance may be an important first step to solving the mystery of your hair loss.
If you find that your doctor is not helping you or addressing your concerns, it may be time to find a new doctor.

We're all here for you hon.
