So I have been seeing this doctor for a couple months. She is very focused on helping me with the hair loss, and is very sensitive and caring about it. She also knows I do not have all the money in the world, so she did not do any unnecessary blood work. She looked all the panels done at Kaiser the month before. She sent me home with a saliva test to look at adrenal issues, as well as an iodine test. Turns out I do have burned out adrenals and a mild iodine deficiency. She put me on natural supplements for those. She is also going to start me on a small dose of Nature-Throid to see if my thyroid will respond positively to that. She is also encouraging me to get off of YAZ (which is not helping me grow any hair, although shedding is stable), and to supplement with progesterone. This is surprising to me as no other doctor I have ever been to seemed interested in even experimenting with bio-identical hormones with me, as I am only 22. Although I had asked. With Dr Lalezar I did not have to ask or beg for anything. She instigated it all. So this is a nice change. We will see what comes out of it. If you decide to see her, let me know and I will give you info needed for a referral discount! And I promise I get nothing out of this endorsement. I am just excited to finally talk to a physician---not just an alternative practitioner who seems to possibly have a method to figuring issues out.
