I just found this site today and was reading the stories and articles, but I was looking for a bit of a frame of reference. (I totally understand that this is a personal issue and people may not want to give detailed descriptions)

So I'm wondering if you all could give me an idea of when hair loss is a big enough problem to warrant aggressive treatment...maybe on the savin/ludwig scale?

Are most people here in the I, II or III stages?

Thanks!

I don't think I fit any of those categories/pictures because most of my hair loss is diffuse (throughout) and then I lost a few chunks in the back of my head by the nape of my neck. And I have some more noticeable hair loss toward the front as well. Those pics seem to only show "male pattern baldness"

I did not lose my hair like this. It fell out in a diffused pattern all over my head for 14 year and then just the front section went bald.

My loss is very diffuse, too, but the thinnest sections are at my temples. From the top, my hair looks fine.

My hair loss doesn't look like any of these either. It's diffuse throughout with more significant balding at the temples.

Mine is diffuse as well with more at the temples. It looks like there is more on top but I think that is just because it is so much more visible.
