Does anyone know about the new product Latisse for eyelash growth? http://www.latisse.com/
I was wondering what the active ingredients are and whether they might also help with hair growth on the scalp? Of course, using Latisse itself for the scalp would be cost prohibitive, so I'd have to find another product with the ingredients or something. But, I'm curious.
According to the internet, BIMATOPROST - OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION, which they say Latisse contains is for treating glaucoma when used as an eye drop, so I think there has to be something more in the Latisse.

Thanks for that info, Honeybee. I actually have almond oil that I use as a skin moisturizer. I've never used it on my lashes though. I'll have to give that a try.
I was thinking about the same thing too i mean if you can grow hair on your lashes why not on your head? I always wonder that when i see Brooke Shields in that commercial

Hello Sisters,
I haven't used Lattise but know several who have. They LOVE IT. It makes your lashes darker too so beware if you try it on your head!:>
I know someone who knows Jan Marini who first developed an eyelash growing product. The FDA shut her down saying she needed fda approval and then Latisse moved in and got approval (spendy process) . Corporate jockey-ing for profits at its best.
Anyway, I have used both jan marini product and revitalash (much cheaper than latisse). They don't color your lashes but they do work and work well. Am using on my eyebrows now too. We shall see! I am tempted to use it on my hair as well . Also, Jan Marini does have a hair revitalizer product. It doesn't seem to necessary grow my particular hair but it does help me manage it better (Mine is fine and whispy). It is one hundred dollars per spray bottle. Mine has lasted quite a while (almost a year) .
I fully expect Latisse will come out with a hair product. My derm told me that they are making a fortune and obviously their ads are everywhere.
that is all I know, keep the faith! xo

I use Ardell lash & brow growth accelerator, I've mentioned it on the forum before. I buy it at Rite-Aid for $4 - it's like a clear mascara. It has really, really made my lashes longer and thicker, very quickly. And they fall out much less than they used to. I use it on my brows too, they were getting rather patchy, and it seems to be helping them fill in. It definitely works better on lashes.

At 4 dollars a bottle it is tempting to use that on one's head! :p:confused:

I have used this since March and LOVE IT. Lashes are double the length and thickness....AND I am almost 65!! Just wish I could put it on my head where the hair is falling out.

I'm getting inspired by everyone's posts. My lashes and brows have thinned too.
This is something I'm definitely going to look into.

Has anyone used Latisse or a similar product on non-existant eyelashes? I don't have any eyelashes or eyebrows any more and would love to find a way to help them grow back.
Thanks!

Hi, Corinne;
I'm sorry to say that I have NOT yet tried the Latisse although I keep watching the commercials and wondering about it. My sister regrew her eyebrows with a tiny bit of Minoxidil (Rogaine) on a Q-Tip. Perhaps that could help you as well?
So far my eyebrows are still okay, but my eyelashes are almost non-existent. I've also been watching the commercials for that new product by L'Oreal. It's not prescription so I assume it will be much less expensive than the Latisse. I'll respond to this thread if I try either of them and let you know the results.

I've been using Latisse for about a year, regularly at first and now just once or twice per week. It's pricey, but it works well. I've used it to grow/re-grow upper and lower eyelashes AND eyebrows. It's da bomb! It was originally developed as a treatment for glaucoma or cataracts (have to look that up), but was found to grow lashes, so was approved for cosmetic use. If you get it for glaucoma, it's pretty cheap. Cosmetic is expensive. It's the same stuff. You can order it from India online at low prices. The problem with getting the glaucoma prescription is that your insurance carrier will panic because they think you have glaucoma and you know what happens then. I'm tempted to use it on my head as well, but have to get the cheap version first. When I first got mine, the nurse at my derm's office told me how to get maximum mileage out of it: put one drop of it into the bottle cap, then use a small soft brush to apply it to your eyes and brows. Keep your brush clean. The manufacturer's instructions are to put one drop on the supplied plastic brush for each eyelid. I've gotten a full year out of 3 bottles using the drop-in-the-cap method. And I have gorgeous eyelashes and brows, where once I had almost nothing.
