Hi I am new here. I have been losing my hair for about a year now. Not bald spots but MAJOR thinning. I had my thyroid taken out last July and I am on synthroid. I have always had thin hair but now... OMG what a difference. I can't afford to lose anymore hair. I have been wearing extensions for since 94. I love them but now they are starting to show though. So I went to a hair clinic and was talking to the guy about something for the top of my head. They have something called METHODE TRAPEZE. I like the idea of this but am very nervous about it. Its very expensive and I don't want it to look bad. So my question is does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing. Thanks for any insight on this subject:)

OK I looked at a few websites. I think I would ask the stylist to let you speak to at least two of his clients. He will have some clients who will be willing to speak to you. If he says something about privacy, push a little and tell him that "Oh surely you can call one or two of his nice clients and just ask if they will just speak to me?"
Be sure to ask him how many of these he has done and if he or someone else will be doing the follow up visits. It sounds interesting, but I would ask for all the fees and maintenence requirement or repair fees, as well as the pros and cons. Also, be careful not to add on extra treatments or concotions. Just get the hair. You did not mention the cost. What is it?
Can you treat it like your own hair? Does it fall out gradually over time or it is permanent until you remove it? Can you wash it? Use a brush on it?
Have you looked into any other options or hair salons?
Lots of question to be asked, but at the end of the day you have to go with your gut. Good Luck!

Okay so it is human hair. They match it to your hair color. Its almost like a wig for the top of your head. They pull your remaining hair through the top of it also they use a bond to keep it securely on. He showed me before and after pics but I want to see up close how it looks. You know? He says its undetectable to touch even. You can swim etc. It doesn't come off until you go in (say 4 months later) and get your real hair colored cut whatever and then they reapply NEW hair. The cost is... are you ready? 3500.00 A YEAR! Its like a car payment forever. Its an investment. I asked what it would do to the hair I do have on my head and he said nothing. But he is also trying to sell me something. If you use a bond on your scalp is it going to ruin the hair there so when they take it off I would have a bald ring around my head??? I guess that what I am wondering. I really like quick fixes. So I am very interested but still a bit leary. I am not doing anything yet. Still searching out option.I do like the idea of having hair on the top of my head though.:D

My system is bonded to my hair and I haven't noticed any traction alopecia or bald spots from the bonding. Many women shave the area for bonding so yes you would have a ring.
Bare with me on this. I was totally freaked out at first about shaving, but I realize now that is just doesn't matter. NO ONE will ever see you without your hair. Bonding really isn't for women who think their hair may come back, but I know mine isn't coming back.
I saw that the trapeze it sort of looks like an intergration system, but i could be wrong.
Have you thought about a bonded system like the one I have. It is really great and may be cheaper.
