Post partum Hair loss? He'll be in college soon!

I am a 39 year old mother to 3 children- 6, 3 and 17 months. I also have hypothyroidism ( I take 100 mcgs of unithroid, diagnosed about 10 years ago) which has been closely monitored since the birth of my third. It is falling in the normal range. With all 3 I experienced "normal" post partum hair loss around 3-4 months post partum, Definitley noticeable in the shower, but I was never alarmed. After the 3rd (whom I delivered via 3rd c-section and had remaining tube tied due to complications) I had a second go at hair loss starting In November. My OBGYN assured me it was still post partum and while upsetting, it would pass. I was very alarmed, and down, had my throid checked(fine) and trusted my OBGYN. I felt it possibly had slowed doen by April and was feeling ok with my thinned out hair. Until about a month ago, it seems to be shedding again like mad and I have had my hair cut twice b/c there is just none left! MY obgyn checked thyroid levels again(fine) and suggested I waited it out, but if not to get intouch with an endocrinologist. I have made the appt, however they are not taking patients until fall! So I made an appt with another OB who specializes in alternative therapies and hormone issues. That is in 2 weeks.

Just greatful to have found this site and was wondering if anyone had heard of such long reaching post partum hair loss? I was of course joking about my son being in college soon, but I feel like it couldn't possibly post partum at almost 17 months! Thank you for any insite/advice/solutions!
