Hi, I am 46, hypothryoidism, on ERT as I went through Menopause early. I have been losing hair the last few months and the pace is picking up. My doctor thinks an Endrocrinologist or Dermatologist is not going to do anything she would do. I see however in posting references to tests to ask for and as I have an appt. with my dr. tomorrow I'm hoping someone reads this in time and can advise what blood tests to get? Also want to add that I was diagnosed with Candida overgrowth (2) years ago, ate clean for about a year (no sugars, wheats, etc.) but fell off that wagon. Every since I have had major issues with fatigue, almost total inability to wake up each morning...and chronic constipation...nothing goes through we without major assistance so now my stomach and GI tract are "lazy", don't work and I know this is all connected. Also 2 1/2 weeks ago started an Estrogen patch instead of oral Estradiol as my dr. thought it would absorb better - well my chest and hips and body have gained weight so that proves the patch is doing something and perhaps that my stomach is not processing my Estradiol or Armour Thyroid. Please someone help me tell me dr. what to do? Tell me what supplements to take - biotin sublingual I've heard? how much? Saw palmetto? how much? what about washing hair - I use something called Mediceutical Shampoo and then a spray to leave in twice a day? Do I brush my hair to stimulate growth? Please any and everyone help me as I am still doctored-out from the 1 1/2 years dealing with yeast overgrowth that got into my entire system...and nobody knew what to do...and I am near broke. And now heart-broken....
