Hello - I have been denying to myself that my hair was falling out for a couple years. Recently the loss has gotten so bad in the front I can't deny it anymore. I'm severely depressed and don't know how to deal with this. My hair had always been super thick and wavy/curly. Now it's thin and limp and my loss is visible along the top of my hairline and on the crown of my head. I have no idea what has caused this - I've never had any thyroid conditions or used any hormonal birth control in the last 10 years. It started mostly about 4 years ago when my youngest child was born, but has been so gradual I didn't really notice I was shedding without new growth until about 18 months ago. I think that was some of the denial too. I have some questions...

1) I noticed people talking about raw/vegetarian diet. Does that help?
2) I also noticed people taking about shorter haircuts - does that help as well? Even with just disguising the loss?
3) I'm going to meet a doctor next week to try and figure out what is causing my loss - any suggestions for questions I should ask?

Thanks so much - I really appreciate your help and support!

Once you get past the denial then you are on the road to a solution. You might want to pick up a book that a DR. REDMOND wrote. You will have to search for it on the internet. I can't remember the title, but I know that it will educate you on what to expect at the doctor.

Many of us have had our doctor disappoint us, so it helps to be informed. I could never find a reason for my hair loss so I refused to get all drugged up. I did try some natural things like biotin, vitamins, shampoos and even rogaine. I even looked into a hair transplant, extentions and weaving (none of which were good choices, for lots of reason but mostly very honest salon owners and doctor who knew it wouldn't work for me) Sorry to say nothing worked and now I wear a beautiful human hair bonded topper.

I don't have all the answers for regrowing hair, but if you decide to go supplemental I may be able to give you some pointers. You might try some Toppik for now and shorter hair is good, less to worry about, but unless you have extra long hair and keep it pulled back that isn't the problem.

Angela has a website about raw foods. Check that out. You may get some allergy test as well. I think some of my loss is related to allergies and I know that Angela said the same thing in one of her post.

All My best
