i just got my scalp biopsy back today, it said I have teli efluvium..you know the one, I just can't spell it :) and the nurse said it is the non-scarring one whatever that means..my question is...I had surgury in march....is my hair loss from the shock to my system of the surgury and will my hair loss eventually stop and grow back? thanks, kris

Hi Kris, if it really is telogen effluvium, it could be from your surgery. The timing is right - TE usually starts 3-6 months after the event. And if it is TE you could see regrowth in another 3-6 months. I keep saying "If" because I certainly can't make you any promises. Many of us are told we have TE, but it turns out not to be (since the hair doesn't grow back quite as expected). Unfortunately, only time will tell.
