Her name is Stacy and she is the owner of Harmony Salon in Mansass, VA. I went to Stacy because another stylist in another salon gave me horrible advice how to address the hair loss I am experiencing -cutting off more than 6 inches of my hair (it's now about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long now). I have been wearing a wig since then :(. Stacy was with a client when I arrived. She came out to the waiting area, introduced herself to me and then told me that she was finishing up with another client and would be with shortly. While I waited a member of the staff brought me Stacy's portfolio so I could see her work. Several minutes later Stacy came out to reception area and asked me to follow her to her chair. We had previously agreed that this would be a consult appointment only. Stacy asked me if I would prefer that the curtains be drawn for privacy - I declined. Stacy asked questions and listened. She then looked very closely at my scalp with a device for several minutes. She then suggested I see a trichologist (I've been to a dermatologist and my general practitioner already - my hair loss is a mystery to both) and gave the name of a person several of her clients see. As luck would have it, the woman in the chair next to mine is a client of the trichologist. The woman was very candid about her experience (pleasant overall). When the woman left I told Stacy I wanted to look at several of the wigs she had in the lobby area (the wig I wore to the salon makes me look JUST like my mother ) . Stacy encouraged me to take my time trying on the wigs and offered suggested about styling and modifying the wigs. I was not pressured to buy anything. I selected a wig - Stacy trimmed it so it looked more like me.
When my hair grows longer (positive thinking ;)) I would like to go back and see Stacy to get my hair trimmed.
