Phylies (pronounced Felice) has a 2 chair salon in Pasadena. She was completely comfortable dealing with my hair loss issue. Did not make me feel embarrassed at all. I have thin, curly hair, and I have a cowlick. She dealt with all those issues well. She practices a technique called the "Golden Spiral" which uses nature's shapes and angeles to create a cut that is easy to style. I left the salon a little scared as I did not want my hair to be blow dryed...I was not sure if it would be a frizzy mess. I am actually channeling Farrah Fawcett...well kinda. Anyway while I still worry about my hair, I am going out without a hat much more often, so that speaks volumes about what she did for my hair. I will admit she is the girlfriend type I have been used to when I go to a salon..when I gave her a hug she kinda looked at me funny....but I have decided after 2 hair washings that I recommend her for her skill, and the fact that her salon is pretty much private since only has two chairs....and I did not get the impression she has any other stylists at her place. There is just a nice older woman who washes hair and gives scalp massages before the cut. Her number is 626-791-6123.
