Hair Worrier

Hello all
After doing a fair amount of research and worrying into hair loss I thought that it might be useful to share some of my tips on combatting hair loss and hopefully to learn a few more from you too. Some of them seem so obvious and straight forward but I didn't even think of some of them until I read about them in someone's tale...
- washing hair with slow flowing cool water, as opposed to gushing quite hot water which although it used to make my hair feel really clean did quite a bit of damage.
- not stratching the scalp-simply wash it at the first sign of irritation, otherwise i lose a lot more hair. Particularly important to me as I have suffered from more than my fair share of dandruff so have to be strict with myself if my scalp feels irritated...
- comb the hair instead of brushing it! Much more gentle.. and you can stop yourself from excessively styling and combing the hair as you can see exactly how much hair you have lost that day.
- when hair is wet- I just comb it through once and then let it drip dry. I never put any type of fabric or towel on it as it tends to drag and tug my hair. Simply pat dry and then allow to drip dry with a towel around my shoulders.
- using a satin sleep cap/pillowcase.. I dont use a scarve as it flattens my hair and then when i comb into the direction i like it tugs it out sometimes.
- light finger tip head massage to relax the scalp and help absorption of anti-hair loss products.
- banned myself from using straightening irons for more than 5 minutes a day, if i use them at all..big loss here but sacrifices have to be made in any war.
- positive thinking :)
