I've been losing my hair since I was abour 25 years old. The problem with me is, that after about a year of using one product, my hair starts thinning again. I've used Rogain, but I have to be careful because I have MS, and this seems to bring on symptoms. And it didn't work for me anyway. I've also used nioxin- with this, after about a year it all fell out at once. I've also used Nisim, but hated it from the start. I've tried all the home remedies that I know of, and nothing works. I'm on a thinning streak right now, and don't know what to do. I tend to lose on top, but now it is starting to thin in the back. I've been using "Revolution Hair" for about a year and have had very little hair fall. One or two hairs a day. My hair isn't shedding, but it is starting to thin very badly. So bad my sister keeps asking me about it. (who by the way has enough hair for 5 people) No one in my family has disappearing hair, including my 70 year old dad. I don't think I have a hormone problem, although I am not ruling anything out. Thyroid hormones are normal. Any suggestions? I am wondering if MS has anything to do with it. Does anyone else with MS have this problem? I don't think it's the meds I take. Thanks for everything!

We share very very similar stories. I understand everything you at talking about. Nothing worked for me either and I have no underlying health problems, I used Toppik for that last year to hide the thinning, but even that started looking really fake because the hair was too thin, so I finally accepted it and got my beautiful topper.
There is no cure for AGA (female pattern baldness), I don't care what some women say. Many women will try to diagnosis you and send you to a million doctors for a million tests. They will dazzle you with their knowledge on hair loss facts, all the while still losing their own hair. I call this behavior "Chasing" and see it as a stage of grief/denial, and if we are lucky maybe one day we will find acceptance. Women with AGA will have their hair sort of come and go with starts and stops, but mostly we lose it in to the end. Someone has to speak the truth about AGA and as a 14 year survivor, I speak for real life experience.
I was like you with thinning hair for years. We gain a special sort of strength when we have walked aroung in public for years with a balding head. When I got my topper I was so nervous on many levels, but it has been a wonderful experience to have my topper. I would never in my wildest dreams have thought I would wear a little wiggy and love it, but I do. And now I just get on with life and want to share that with other women who have moved past the Chasing stage.
I would have spent any amount of money even looked into hair transplant, but women are not good canidates for that because our thinning is diffuse. ( all over)
Have you thought about getting a topper. They have wonderful ones that clip in or like mine is bonded.
Wigs have come a long way in the last few years. Have a look at my photos albums and see what you think.
I am 44 by the way and have suffered from hair loss since I was 30.
Take Care

Thanks so much. I looked at your pics, and I have to say your hair looks very natural. I ordered a topper from a local beauty shop about 2 years ago, and it looks like I've got a rat laying on my head. The color matched perfectlybut its so thick, it does not blend in. You are suppose to be able to pull your own hair through, but I couldn't get it to work. I'm going to check out some toppers on a site I saw mentioned several times on this site. Thanks again, cvaughn

I called today and made an appointment with a Dr across the street from my job who will be checking my hormones on thursday. They are send out tests, so it will take a few days to find out the results. I have heard that when women are pregnant, their hair gets really thick, but all the new growth falls out in about 3 months. When my baby was born, I had a full head of hair-for the first time in years. (she's 3) I took about a year for me to lose my newfound growth, so I am hoping it will be something as simple as a deficient hormone. But even then, I'm not sure if I would take them. Working in a lab, you see alot, and women taking artificial hormones for long periods of time is dangerous. But it will be nice to know. I'll let you know when I find out something. :>cvaughn

Good Luck, I hope you find the reason.
