hello, first time user. was diagnosed with low thyroid in which i was shedding hair but my MD put me on levothyroxine, a low dose and the hair loss is so much worse. it's pretty scary as being a women and losing hair. i can handle some hair loss, but every day it's coming out. i've been on the meds for a month and a half now and read that your body should get used to it. can someone please help me with any info pertaining to this or if someone has also experienced more hair loss with the levo. also, does one know of a different medication like armour and if it helped. i was surfing the web for hair products and my MD wanted me on a steroid topical to apply on my scalp, but the side effects are nasty. my anxiety is pretty bad day by day as i see my hair getting thinner. please help with any information, thanks ladies!:(

I had my thyroid removed in 1993 due to cancer. I was put on Synthyroid and was on that for 13 years, I did notice my hair thinning a little but I always had thick hair so it was kind of nice to not have so much to blowdry (God, I hope that didn't sound ungrateful!) After 13 years they wanted me on a weird dose and Levoxyl was the drug of choice. I have notice a lot more hair falling out in the last 3 years but I am getting older so maybe that has something to do with it as well. I did use Ovation hair therapy and it made my hair grow longer but not thicker, it actually worked really fast, now I have long thin hair. It is a little pricey if you buy the whole set of shampoo, conditioner and cell therapy ($99.00) so I just got the cell therapy after that ($68.00), I would pay $400.00 for it if it grew more hair! Anyway the other product I used with some success was Shen Min, I would put it on my hair at night (dry hair: scalp: absorbs more) and that did seem to make it thicker. I won't use Rogaine as the side effects scare the hair out of me, anything stronger than that and I will just shave my head! We all want nice hair but I want to live to enjoy it.
