I was wondering if any of you still get your hair colored? Before my hair loss started occuring, my hair was a very dark brown. Now it seems a lot lighter. The hair itself is a lot dryer and brittle. When I color my hair I always use the wash out in 28 shampoos kind. I want to color my hair darker, but Im nervous about losing more hair if I do it. I just wanted to get feedback on how many of you still color your hair.

Thanks!:>

I do get mine colored. When my hairloss started, I'd stopped for a while, in case it was a factor, but it made no difference in what I was losing. I did switch salon's, and they now use Goldwell color . It makes my hair shinier, which is a huge help. My hair is very dark naturally, and I get it colored about the same shade, maybe a teeny bit darker. I'm mostly trying to cover the grays, but I like the texture of my hair better for a few weeks after the color is done. In my case, I see no difference in how much hair I lose right after I have it done or several weeks later. The day it's done is another story...

I desperately want to color mine but I'm afraid to. 1. I think my hair may come out faster, and 2. I'm 2 months pregnant and they don't recommend it. So I'm wondering if there are any "safe" coloring systems out there that won't harm my follicles or the baby. Anyone aware of something like that? Thanks.

Merry, there are shampoos that deposit color on the strands, so it's probably safer. But since you're pregnant, definitely check with your doctor first. I'm sorry I can't think of the names of the shampoos offhand (very helpful), but I'm sure they'll come up in a web search, or at a beauty supply store. Be well!

Found the name - John Frieda!

I think Im just going to do it. My hair is not soft like it used to be and your right Victoria, the way your hair looks right after its colored, so shiney and healthy looking and so so soft! So I think losing a few extra hairs on the day of coloring is worth having my hair look and feel nice for the next month or so! =)

Merry; All of my friends who have been pg their docs told them it was fine to color their hair, and they did, and there were no issues with the baby's health. If you are worried, just check with your doctor.
