I just called the NuHair phone # on the box & the lady was quite helpful. She told me to Not take the Women's formula Nuhair product because it's only for women losing hair due to menopause (I'm 33) so not for me because it contains estrogen. But that I can use the DHT blocker form of Nuhair, EXCEPT for the fact that I'm still breastfeeding my 17 month old:( So I gotta ween him which I'm already trying to before starting any product.
I just don't know if I want to start birth control or try the Nuhair first...decisions decisions...going to beg my dr tomorrow to test for testosterone levels & iron...

I have been taking the NU Hair for Women for months now along with the DHT Blocker. I am only 38 and not menopausal. I don't know if it's helping or not. I started taking it in April. I also started taking Spriro and a new birth control the middle of may. I do have a lot of little thin white hairs where ever I part my hair but they are so small they don't change the density of my hair....yet. I am hoping that they will soon thicken up a bit. Overall I think my hair is thinner then before I started all the treatment but on the other hand I have a lot of sprigs that are growing...it's hard to say! Good Luck with the Nu Hair. Let me know if you start it or not.

do u know how come you started losing your hair? Just saw my obgyn today & she said to not take both products (a birth control pill & Nuhair). She wants to start me on Alesse but gotta do some research first...
I believe my hair loss was from taking the mini pill that contains progestin only & no estrogen. My dr ordered testosterone tests & ferritin.
You should call the # on the Nuhair box just in case you're taking too much of a combination of pills.

My sister has been using NuHair for years. She actually used the Mens formula. She told me that the Womens formula made her hair shed too much. Maybe I'll switch...gradually....I don't want to spark a shed by changing too much at once.
My hairloss is hormonal. My testosterone is slightly high...the doctor I went to see says that anything over 50 (testosterone) in a women is high even though it's within the labs "normal" range. I guess my body is sensitive to it and that's why I have these crazy symptoms. Besides hairloss I also had very oliy skin, acne and major peach fuzz on my face that I never had...all signs of testosterone sensitivity. I thought I might have PCOS but the doc didn't think so. Since I have been on the new birthcontrol and the spiro my skin has really cleared up and I have all these little sprigs so I am taking that as the meds are working. Even if taking the meds just helps me keep the hair I have...I think I can live with that.

Hi NoraBe...I was originally taking Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo when I went to the Doc...he switched it to just plane old Otrho Cylen. I take it continuosly for 12 weeks and then off for 4 days. This still allows me to have a period but staying on it for 12 weeks also allows my estrogen to remain constent and not flucuate too much. I hope this helps!
