Hello Everyone,

I changed my Dr, and asked her if she could run my blood work and she stated that she looked at my chart and that all my blood work was fine including my iron??? I informed her of my problem and she also seem unsensitive to the situation and asked that if I wanted to discuss it further with her to make an appointment, this is the third Dr in three yrs:( that doesn't want to help!!! I went ahead and made the appointment but know that when I go in there she is going to say its stress related and not want to help me, I won't deny that I'm not stressed there are really big problems right now and my marriage is suffering because of it:mad: Can anyone help me and give me advice in what questions I should ask her or what other test she can run!!!!

Not an expert, so take the following with a grain of salt:

1. What is the ferritin level specifically? I have heard that it needs to be above 70 in order for hair growth to occur. So, even if your iron level isn't flagged as too low, it still may not be high enough. (Careful with this though: too much iron can lead to more hair loss and can be toxic, so don't overdo it. Try adding some iron-rich food to your diet, like leafy greens, raisins, or blackstrap molasses.)

2. Check out the following webpage from the American Hair Loss Association (http://www.americanhairloss.org/women_hair_loss/diagnosis.asp). They provide a list of things to ask the doctor about. If you bring that printout to the doctor and ask about those items, you might be able to get some more useful answers.

Good luck and keep asking questions.
