So, I was wondering if anyone has tried aldactone for hair loss? I am new here, and went to see my endocrinologist today. He says that my thyroid levels are perfect. I had initially come to him with complaints that synthroid was making me lose hair, but he says his lab tests show that I have an extremely high level of DHT hormone, and that is causing the hair loss. He prescribed metformin and aldactone. I have been doing some research on the web and have read some scary things about the aldactone and am wondering if anyone has experience with it. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

How long did it take for the hair loss to stop???
I just started taking Aldactone/Spironolactone and my dr started me at 50mg for 2 weeks got blood tests then started 100mg and will bump up to 150mg once my body can tolerate based on bloodwork...so make sure to get bloodwork done...
I've only been on it 2 weeks I haven't seen improvement YET. But the hair cycle can take 4 months.
