Hi Everyone!

My hair loss journey began two years ago. I have always had fine hair. But over the last two years, it seems like a lot more scalp is starting to show, particularly at the front and crown. I dread washing my hair because I know it will come out by the strands. My hair loss has been a major source of embarrassment for me. After months and months of denial, I finally have an appointment with a dermatologist. This is my first appointment and I want to make sure I ask all the right questions and she examines me throughly. How do I know she's testing me for all the possible causes?

Any suggestions on what type of tests she should run or what kinds of questions I need to be asking?

Thanks,
Hopeful

Wow..that sounded like me...just that I've had mine since I was 13 or so...I'm 33 now and am going for my first dermatologist appointment...I'm sure an answer to your question will help me as well. I just hope he won't laugh at me...:(

If they laugh, don't go back. A very important lesson I've learned is, they are there to help you. If anyone doesn't listen or you feel "off" about it, go to someone else!
