Hey beautiful women. I have been meaning to get on here for a while. I am so happy this resource exists.

So, I am 25 and have been experiencing hair loss for around 5 years now. It is a painful process but I have amazing people all around me and I am still in a place where I can conceal it. I don't know for how long that will be, but I just appreciate every day that I can live as naturally and normally as I want. I have been using Men's Rogaine for around 4-5 years now. I have been told by three different dermatologists that it is in my best interest to use it and I believe it has helped. (Who knows what would happen if I wasn't using it!) Though, I still experience shedding (especially around my period). I also take herbs from my acupuncturist for my hair loss.

How do I use Rogaine so comfortably? Here is my trick: I use the Men's foam (buy the 3-pack, its much cheaper), and I pull the sticker off of the can. It comes off quite easily if you start from the corner and pull all the way around. I do that to all the bottles and dispose of the boxes. (Keep the instructions on hand, in case you need to check back - though, they are probably available online. By doing that, I safely leave it in my bathroom and travel with it and do not have to feel ashamed about what I am doing for my health.

I think it's important for everyone here to see a doctor to ensure that Rogaine is right for you. But if you choose to use it, follow my instructions and you will not feel as terrible when you use it as a part of you morning and evening bathroom routines.

In solidarity and struggle,
e.rubyfruit.

I am 25 and my hair will not grow. My hair has always been thin but it did grow. Until i got extensions and damaged my hair. That was 5 years ago. It has only grown maybe 2-3 inches in those 5 years. I finally got so upset and went to my doctor who then recommended me to a dermatologist...who finally sent me to a special Hair Doctor. My iron level is low, the hair doc said you need a iron level of 50 to be normal. Mine is at 9. That is a good factor playing into my hair not being able to grow. I started minoxidil 5% almost a month ago. I hate my short hair so much that i wear Microloop hair extensions for 2 months at a time. (They dont hurt your hair so much as others) I truly hope the minoxidil is working and I hope to see results very soon or when I take out my extensions.

I am so happy to find a forum to talk with other women about our hair loss or non-growth. Other women dont seem to get how upsetting it is. So many women take their hair for granted.
