I went to Dr. Wendell Weed here in Fayetteville, Arkansas to get a second opinion on my hairloss. He is a very good dermatologist. My boyfriend went to him for a skin problem and he fixed it so my boyfriend said I should go see him. Dr. Weed looked at all my previous test results and the list of things I had tried, and he looked at my hair and scalp. He said that I have aga and explained that I don't have to have women in my family who have lost their hair for me to lose mine. He asked if I have men in my family who have lost their hair, he said that is all you need. He said it is not like blue eyes, he said 2 or 3 things are involved genetically to lose your hair. He explained that the rogaine will take 6 months to see if it is working. He asked me why I was using the foam instead of the liquid, and I told him the other derm told me to. Dr. Weed said that the liquid is better for me because of the amount of hair I have, he said the foam would be better for him because he doesn't have much hair and he can get it directly on the scalp better. He explains things more thoughly and he wasn't afraid to sit down and talk about it. I did not have to wait long before going in to see him, and I was able to get my medical records from hin that day before I left. I don't know if he takes insurance because I paid with cash, but I think they probably do. The charge was only $60, but they do have a note up that you will be billed for a biopsy, if you have one done, from the company who does the test. He was definitely better than the first derm I went to. The first derm was Dr. Eric Stewart of Fayetteville, Arkansas. This guy I would not recommend to any one. He wouldn't look at my hair or scalp, and he didn't want to see any of the papers we brought along. He said the only reason they make women's rogaine is to make women feel okay with using it!
