Not glued, they clip onto your hair with little comb clips. You can get them with a lace front which allows you to see through it to your own scalp, looking very realistic. The one I liked the best had a narrow lace front about 3 inches deep, by about 3/4 inch wide. In this lace front section, you can part the hair, and it looks like hair and scalp. You position it over your own part, and then clip it in, leaving a few of you own front hairs to come out underneath, thus heightening the illusion. The ones I tried were human hair, the salon will dye it and cut it to fit in with your hairstyle. This girl named Lauren has a blog.... "The corner of hope and mane"... Check it out, she goes through everything about wearing a topper. The ones I tried on were way more expensive than hers. I am now looking at Wigsbuy, they have much cheaper human hair ones than what I tried.... I'm thinking of buying a cheap one from them to test out and see if it's something I want to do...
Hi all! I would like to restart this post: would anyone in New York City like to meet up? I've been going through this for about three years now and beginning to feel alone in my struggle. I'm pretty sure I need a topper at this point, so I would love to meet someone who could give me their honest opinion, as opposed to many of friends who are made uncomfortable by this issue. Keren
I am in NYC , suffering a hair loss, would love to meet up. It is so hard no one to talk about this problem.
I don't know how to reply personally to you to give you my email address so we can arrange a date and place. Do you?
I can either meet in Manhattan or Hoboken, either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Open to suggestions for a location!
I work until 6 in Brooklyn, but could get there by 6:45, especially if we meet near the PATH (I can see if I can leave a little early). Feel free to meet earlier and I can join at the end!
Sorry I dropped the ball on this. I've been sick. I'll definitely try to meet up when I'm feeling better.
