I'm sorry to hear that. Have you lost a lot of them? I hate when I lose my eyelashes.
    Are they falling out evenly?

Mine seem to shed periodically too. I've never lost all of them, but some days, after I shower, there will be 5 or 6 on my cheek. And invariably one ends up in my eye, and you can't get it out, because you don't want to rub near your lashes...

    Angela-

They are coming out unevenly, one eye more than the other. I can see bare spaces between the lashes & particularly on 1 bottom lid. I remember reading on the network one member is using that new product, Latisse? I am sick of wasting my money on products that don't work, though!

    Vicki-

Glad to hear they don't all fall out.

From what I hear Latisse is supposed to be pretty good, but I've never tried it myself. Are you losing hair on other parts of your body (alopecia universalis)?

Also, I just read today that Loreal (or however you spell it) is coming out with a similar product soon as well! There is no release date yet, but it will be over the counter, unlike the prescription you need for Latisse.

    Kellie-

not sure if it's coming out anywhere else (except my head, of course!). about 6 years ago I lasered my legs, pits & most of bikini area. how's that for irony? when the rest of my hair falls out, I'll be like one of those hairless cats. Hopefully not as wrinkled, though!!!

Hahaha, at least you can have some sense of humor about it all :) As depressing as it is, I find a good laugh can always help raise my spirits.

I hate when that happens. Once I had my eyelashes fall out only on one eye and only half of it. It looked quite bazaar. I didn't do anything about it though. I just locked myself away back then and refused to go anywhere.
Ive heard of Latisse but I haven't heard personal accounts on the Network or Forum of it actually working.
You can get false eyelashes. They make them in different sizes.

I have double thick eyelashes, but they fall out every once-in-awhile. I lose about 1/2 of them. I hate it, but I am used to it so I just live with it. Believe me it comes and goes.

The eyelash thing..just insult added to injury, ya know? This week was the pits. I went to my endocrinologist for my usual blood work up. I'm on thyroid meds for my hashimotos. They always scoff about my hair loss & act like I'm just ridiculous that this is my main complaint. It's a 'cosmetic issue' & their job is to keep people healthy (not hairy? haha). I also had my hair cut & colored this week. I had put it off for waaay too long, but it's so depressing. I've always had fine straight hair, but plenty of it. I liked stylish cuts & people were always stopping me to ask "who does your hair?" Today I still have just enough to color, back comb, powder & spray into place to camouflag my scalp. But it's just a matter of time before that doesn't work either. It's a constant shed, worse sometimes than others. I'll be in a wig at some point. Some days I'm ok with that & other days I get down about it. It just doesn't seem real.

The last month or so I have noticed a changed in my eyelashes as well. Now my hair was never my thing, I have fine hair, it was never anything special, but my eyelashes, thats another story. They were always so long and thick, people would always ask me if they were real. So now Im finding I have to put more and more mascarra (sp?) on just to get a decent showing. Im not a happy camper! So im with you on this one lady! Im really considering trying Latisse.

kdwmw: dont forget to give us an update on the stuff you ordered! Im very interested to see if it works. If it does, Im buying a crate full!

So Im wondering, and maybe this is just a silly thought, but if this stuff works on lashes, could it work on your scalp?

I'm sorry to hear about your lashes. I went through a period around three years ago where I lost most of my lashes on both eyes. It happened pretty quickly, and it was a shocker. My lashes have never been on the full side, but that was a new and unpleasant experience for me. They grew back to a normal amount, and haven't changed much since. I wouldn't hesitate to use false eyelashes in the future, if and when it happens again. Latisse sounds interesting. It's so new though, that I would want to find out how others have fared with it. I hear it can affect your eye color.

    Beth,

I was thinking the same thing...if there's something that will grow eyelashes, will they find something for our head hair soon? That would be really cool. :p

Patti: well you know if I get that stuff, I think I may try it out on the front of my scalp where im thinning pretty good. It cant hurt right! You never know, it may work! :D

I bought the Ardell at Rite-Aid today (I can't believe they had it!) It was $4.19, certainly worth a try. I just applied it for the first time, I'll keep you posted here.

OK, I'm impressed with Ardell. My lashes already are longer, especially the bottom ones, and they look thicker. It hasn't helped my brows yet, though. But for those of you who want lash help, I would recommend it. Ardell Lash & Brow Growth Accelerator.

I hadn't been consistent enough with the Ardel to notice anything yet, but it sounds like it is really working for Vicki! yea! In the meantime, I found a lash primer that makes what I have look long & thick! It's Lancome's cils booster XL. Put it on first (it's white), let dry & apply mascara. It's great. With this & the Ardel my lashes are going to be so fabulous no one will notice my thin hair!!!! :)
