When psoriasis affects scalp then hair loss happens. Scalp psoriasis causes severe itchy & that leads to frequent scratching and that could also cause hair loss. For some people stress of psoriasis causes hairs fall.

How does psoriasis affect hair loss ? If U have it somewhere on your skin, but not visible on your scalp, does it cause hair loss in another way that U don't notice ?
I have the scaly stuff on my elbows, etc., but have not seen any on my scalp. Hair loss is very present, however.

Psoriasis arthritis, a chronic disease, is a form of inflammatory arthritis that affects between 10% and 30% of patients who have psoriasis (National Psoriasis Foundation, USA). The majority of patients with psoriatic arthritis developed the skin conditions - psoriasis - first, and were later diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. However, in about 20% of cases arthritis symptoms may emerge beforehand. If the arthritis symptoms emerge many years before the skin symptoms an accurate diagnosis may be difficult.
