Hello everyone! I am asking for all the advice and suggestions you can provide me! I finally have my appointment at the U Penn Hair Loss Clinic; it took me 6 months to get! Has anyone had any experience with them? Any suggestions on what to ask? After waiting so long I want to make sure I ask all possible questions! I have had blood work done and everything has come back okay and I have had a scalp biopsy and was told I have AGA. Everyone says you need to know the cause to help the treatment how do I know my cause? Anyway any suggestions or experiences with the clinic would be greatly appreciated!!!
Good for you! Please share your experiences once you have your appointment. I've wondered if any doctors exist that recommend something besides minoxidil and spironolactone. It would be interesting to hear what these folks tell you, since they are the best. This is probably not news to you, but the company, Follica, was founded upon U Penn research. I only heard about Follica recently, but I promptly posted a question about micro needling on the boards; I didn't hear anything....
Would you be willing to ask your doctor if there is any reason women shouldn't try pumpkin seed oil for AGA? There's a study which seems hopeful for men with AGA http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4017725/ but I've not seen any hint of a similar study for women! (And, if you do decide to ask your doctor, it would be great to hear the response on the board I have a very nice dermatologist, but hair loss is not her specialty; when I ask questions like this, she brushes them off and replies with something like, "supplements won't make a difference." I've been on the boards too much this week, but I do hope your appointment proves encouraging and helpful.
Yes I will definitely share my experience! I hope it's a successful appointment! And I would be happy to ask about the pumpkin seed oil! Keep letting me know any questions I could ask that could provide myself and everyone else more answers!
