Thanks for your reply, arjhay101. Since I posted back in the start of Jan., I've increased my Vit. D (about 6000 mg. daily) and am finally starting to see a tiny bit more improvement. I don't have as much in the tub strainer after my morning shower. There's still some, but not as bad as it was. And I still lose some when I brush it out (gently!) after the shower. I also noticed my scalp doesn't have the severe burning sensation I was experiencing a few months ago. It still itches on occasion, but not like before. I'm hoping it will start to grow back out, but we'll see. I haven't found any Vit. D ointment in the stores, I'm guessing it's by presc. only.
